Dogs ACT INAUGURAL Grooming Competition

Judge:

Ms. Linda Buckley

Classes: Novice - for those with less than three years of experience.

Intermediate - for those who have won a Novice class or have accumulated over two (2) years of grooming experience.

Advanced or Champion - for those who have won an Intermediate class with four (4) or more competitors, and Groomers with four (4) or more years of grooming experience.

Model dogs must be delivered by 11:00 AM for Judging.

Pre-judging begins at 8 AM.

AM Session starts at 8:30 AM.

PM Session will not commence before 12:00 PM.

AM: Salon Freestyle, Scissoring, and Spaniel/Setter Model dog.

PM: Hand stripping, Poodle, Asian Fusion.

Competitors

• Must be in the ring 30 mins before competition starts with dog and tools.

• At finish time: clear hair/tools, place a plain tablecloth (no ads), and a comb at front for judge.

• Dogs must be stacked/standing for judging.

• Tablecloths and attire must not display business, kennel, or sponsor names.

• Must show good sportsmanship and set a positive example.

• No talking with other competitors or audience. Breach = possible disqualification.

• No phones/electronics in ring (except for timekeeping).

• Rough handling, aggression, or abusive language = immediate disqualification.

• Judges’ decisions are final. Complaints must be in writing with $250 fee.

• Model dogs (if entered) must be supplied by the competitor and completed before competition date.

Dogs

• Recommended age: 1–10 years.

• Must have min. 6 weeks coat growth or enough coat for a visible change.

• Must be healthy, clean, parasite-free, and in good condition.

• Must not be in season, pregnant, or nursing.

• Must not show aggression or viciousness.

• Must not be left unattended.
