The ART AND SCIENCE OF JUDGING DOGS
The seminar will examine the elements of art and the scientific knowledge we need as dog judges. Balancing the demands of both of these represents the challenge for judges but it is one challenge that develops as we gain experience, accepting that we need to learn all of the time. New science has challenged and dismissed many old myths and improved how we can use that new knowledge to judge any breed of dog. New science helps us better understand evolution and change and assists us to know how we as judges can deal with those changes, and better adapt, as humans continually and deliberately add 'beauty' to functionality.
