These sessions are designed as an introductory and developmental opportunity for dogs and handlers interested in lure coursing, providing exposure to the lure machine, chase drive development, and foundational understanding of the sport in a controlled and supportive environment.

Fun-runs will operate following the completion of official lure pursuit trialing each day and will be conducted on the same continuous loop lure system used during competition. Runs may be adjusted in distance, speed and presentation of the lure to suit individual dogs, with the aim of building confidence, engagement and enthusiasm while maintaining a safe and positive first experience.

Club members and experienced participants will be available throughout the sessions to assist handlers with:
• introduction to the lure and field environment
• developing motivation and chase focus
• understanding basic lure coursing procedures and field etiquette
• assessing suitability and confidence levels for future participation in the sport

These sessions are suitable for all dogs with an interest in chasing and lure engagement. No previous experience is required.

Cost: $10 per run

The emphasis of these sessions is education, confidence-building and positive exposure rather than competition scoring or qualification.
