Trash Bunnies Fun-Runs: An Intro to Plastic Bag Murder Sport! 

Want to introduce your dog to the wonderful world of Lure Coursing? We have just the trash bunnies for you! Our Fun-Runs are a relaxed, supportive way to build your dog’s confidence, spark their chase drive, and welcome you into an amazing community.

The Details:

• When: Right after the official Lure Pursuit trial finishes each day.

• Cost: $10 per run (Strictly 1 run per dog—multiple entries for the same dog will be treated as a club donation).

• Who: All dogs with an interest in chasing! No experience needed. Spots are strictly limited.

• ? JOIN THE CAMPING FUN! This is a camping event, so don't think you can't join in on the overnight fun. Grab your tent or setup and join the Saluki Club sleepover!

How It Works:

1. Watch & Learn: Come early to watch the official trial and see how it all works! Lure coursing is highly exciting, so please give all dogs a courteous amount of space.

2. The Briefing: Near the end of the LP trial, we’ll call a mandatory briefing and roll call. (No-shows cannot be carried over to the next day and will be treated as a club donation).

3. On the Field: We start with puppies (who get a nice, short confidence-building track), followed by dogs 1 year and over (who can try a full course or a customized shorter run—just let the Huntmaster know!).

4. Post-Run: Grab your dog quickly after their run (bait and tugs are allowed!) and exit to the guided area as instructed by the Huntmaster.

The Rules & The Vibe: The emphasis here is entirely on education, confidence, and zero-pressure fun—not scores or qualifications! Club members and veterans will be trackside to help you with field etiquette, motivation, and assessing your dog's confidence.

• Bitches in oestrus (heat) are strictly not allowed to participate. 

• No unapproved "Cash n Dash" or fun runs will be provided unless discussed prior to the day or at club discretion.

• Please note: While this is a relaxed training day, field safety rules (incl. Dogs Victoria/ANKC rules 5.4-5.6, 5.10-5.12, 5.19, 5.22–5.26) are in force.
