The ACT Gundog Society Inc is one of Canberra's oldest canine specialty clubs. The Society conducts Conformation Shows, Retrieving Trials, Field Trials, Obedience Trials, Agility Trials and Retrieving Ability Tests (formally Gundog Working Test).

In 2015 the ACTGS celebrated its 50th year of affiliation with Dogs ACT (formerly Canberra Kennel Association)!
